ADVANCING THE
GOLDEN TRIANGLE
We strive to advance the greater downtown area by embracing the downtown Pittsburgh community, diversifying the small business landscape and cultivating arts & culture through innovative projects and events.
Pittsburgh Opera presents its first-ever performances of Joseph Haydn’s opera Armida, January 25 through February 2, 2025, at the Pittsburgh CAPA School Theater, in downtown Pittsburgh.
Point Park University is establishing schools of dance and theatre. Up to now both were departments within its Conservatory of Performing Arts. The rationale is growth as the university aims to grow the enrollment and reach of its nationally known conservatory.
The board of the Public Parking Authority of Pittsburgh voted to sell the site of the former Ninth & Penn public parking garage, demolished before the Covid-19 pandemic, to the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust. The Trust plans to incorporate the open lot into its project to expand "The Backyard," a new public space including a lawn as well as areas dedicated for outdoor performances.
Gregg Broujos, The Buncher Company
As a founding member of the Downtown Neighbors Alliance Board of Directors, I have seen first hand the contributions the DNA has made for downtown Pittsburgh. From the off-leash dog run park, the opening of a grocery store, the recruiting of new retail businesses and advocating for the residential community to name just a few projects, the DNA has made a transformational difference in the resurgence of the Golden Triangle. The extremely positive feedback that I receive from business leaders and residents alike is a testament to John Valentine’s and his Board’s vision and hard work.
Sarah Collins, Downtown Resident
As a resident of downtown Pittsburgh I am a member and a huge supporter of Downtown Neighbors Alliance. Their advocacy and the amenities that they have brought downtown has strengthened my belief that buying here was a great decision. I wouldn't live anywhere else. Thank you DNA!
Josh Gokalp, Owner of Istanbul Grille
Downtown Neighbors Alliance and John Valentine convinced me that downtown Pittsburgh was the best location for Istanbul Grille. We opened up in the Steel Tower building and after a very successful first two years the DNA partnered with me to find a second location. We are now also in the Oxford Center building.
I thank the DNA not only for their diligence for Istanbul Grille, but for all the work they do for the betterment of retail in downtown Pittsburgh.
