Written by Christine Julia Dingzon

The final Mayor’s Happy Hour of the year was an unforgettable evening! Held on Tuesday at the rooftop of Sienna Mercato, the event brought together residents, community leaders, and local organizations for a night of connection, celebration, and reflection.

Despite the temperatures dropping outside, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, thanks to the lively conversations and shared camaraderie. Guests enjoyed a selection of delicious appetizers, while the cash bar kept the festive energy high with refreshing drinks.

The cozy rooftop venue was filled with meaningful exchanges, showcasing the strength and vibrancy of our community. Mayor Ed Gainey took a moment to express his gratitude for the ongoing support and participation in these gatherings. He also took the opportunity to thank everyone who has worked tirelessly to make Downtown Pittsburgh the vibrant, thriving community it is today, including The Department of Public Works, his leadership team, and the city’s first African American woman in the role of Chief of Medical Emergency Services.

Reflecting on Downtown Pittsburgh’s post-pandemic challenges, Mayor Gainey shared,”I’m thankful for the hard problems because I’ve learned a lot. I’m not afraid to fail, but eager to learn.” His words resonated with those in attendance, emphasizing resilience and growth.

As the final Mayor’s Happy Hour of the year, the event left guests feeling inspired and deeply connected. It was a celebration of shared purpose and a renewed commitment to collaboration as we end the year.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed to the success of the five-part Happy Hour series, and to all those who continue to work hard to make Downtown Pittsburgh a better place for everyone. Here’s to building an even brighter future, together!
