Best Dish We Ate This Week: Sally Ann's
By John Valentine
This week our editors journeyed to Sally Ann's, a restaurant that is part of the Sixth Street Restaurant Row. As one of four Richard DeShantz Restaurant Group establishments on Sixth Street (the others are Taco, Butcher and the Rye and gi-jin, along with Meat and Potatoes just around the corner) we were excited to patronize Sally Ann's.
A casual dining experience for breakfast, brunch and lunch. The food was so good that we could not pick just one dish. We could have chosen all four entrees and side dishes but in keeping with our own rules we went with two, The Drive Thru Burger and the House-Made Hash Browns.
Drive Thru Burger is a double patty with American cheese, a special sauce, dill pickle, onion and brioche. Along with the flavor, we both agreed that this is one of the juiciest burgers we have ever eaten.
The House-Made Hash Browns were a surprise as it was presented in a square cut. The first fork fill that I tasted literally made me smile. It was, as they say, simply the best. Even though it was the best Hash Browns that I have ever eaten I wanted to make sure it passed the second test. Great to the last bite. It did. Spectacularly.
We highly recommend this comfortable eatery to all.
