By Olivia Miller

On Sept. 30, The Pittsburgh Metropolitan Area Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (PMACHCC) is inviting the Pittsburgh community to a day full of celebration, culture, food, music and fun in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month.

Their Hispanic Heritage Festival, which is the first of its kind, starts at 9:30 a.m. at the Heinz History Center. There will be music, delicious food, vendors and family-friendly activities until 2:00 p.m. Registration is encouraged and those who pre-register will receive a free t-shirt.

The festivities will then move to Lawrenceville’s Clemente Museum to celebrate famed Pirate Roberto Clemente with the 3,000th Hit Open House: Día De Bomba Y Plena. Tickets are required for the event, which will take place from 1-4 p.m., and cost $21. The lively open house will also feature live Puerto-Rican music, free food, games, and an opportunity to chat with Roberto Clemente aficionados. All proceeds from the event will go to the Puerto Rican non-profit organization, Taller Comunidad La Goyco. Tickets and more information about the event can be found here

Afterwards, from 4-9 p.m., there will be a spirited afterparty at Cavo in The Strip District. For more information about the day of events, visit the PMAHCC’s website.
