Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steakhouse Brings Impeccable Culinary Experience to Pittsburgh
By John Valentine
The restored Union Trust Building on Fifth Avenue and William Penn Place, one of Pittsburgh’s most iconic landmarks, is now home to Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steakhouse. It’s no secret that this American steakhouse makes an impression on those who are rarely impressed.
Guests can enjoy chef-driven cuisine, award-winning wine list, handcrafted specialty cocktails, live music, and superior hospitality at the two-story restaurant.
The unique location marks the restaurant’s first in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The baroque banking hall of the Union Trust Company, built in 1923, now serves as the restaurant’s main dining room. Marble stairs connect the two floors, which is the original staircase, and are surrounded by bare brick walls, ornate wood walls, and arched ceilings. More than 2,700 bottles of wine are held in a beautifully lit wine tower over the bar area, which is visible from the Mezzanine dining room, a space that can host more than 100 guests and is available for private events.
“The Union Trust Building was always the best fit for Del Frisco’s in Pittsburgh, given its ground zero location, the property’s magnificent architecture and historic significance, and the strong performance of the other restaurants located there,” said Tim Whitlock, Chief Operating Officer for Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steakhouse. “The Union Trust Building has become a destination for diners in the city and our new Double Eagle Steakhouse will only enhance that reputation. We pride ourselves in offering an ultra-premium steakhouse experience like no other. We have found our home.”
A tradition of quality cuisine and impeccable service dates back over 37 years at Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steakhouse. The menu features a wide selection of Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steakhouse classic dishes with modern interpretations, including Caviar French Toast, Japanese A5 Wagyu Steak, built-to-order Seafood Tower, Tomahawk for Two, and Six-Layer Lemon Doberge Cake. Guests can expect to enjoy exquisitely prepared dishes while surrounded by striking architecture.
Del Frisco’s is a treasure trove of culinary art that is well-known both nationally and locally, and now provides an unparalleled steakhouse experience in the heart of Downtown Pittsburgh.
