Downtown Date Night: How to Get to Know Your Date in The Golden Triangle

By Layla Joseph

For a relaxing date night in the Golden Triangle, find your way to Market Square on Friday or Saturday evening.

Break the ice and make the short trek to Millie’s Homemade Ice Cream. Find out whether or not your date is lactose intolerant, but you’re safe either way because Millie’s has dairy and gluten-free options alongside the other traditional ice creams.

If you haven’t gotten the cold shoulder from your date, take a stroll up to the Night Market in Market Square.

The Night Market runs from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., so leave in time to see the sunset and enjoy a colorful backdrop along the city’s skyline while browsing art and creations made by Pittsburgh locals.

What better way to spend a weekend evening than wandering around the historic district, enjoying the lively atmosphere of the city and viewing hand-crafted merchandise from local makers and bakers?

With over 90 local vendors featured on rotation, there is always something new to see. Discover your date’s taste in accessories, scents and art to see how compatible you really are. Discover pieces that spark conversation in an atmosphere that sparks romance.

If you two are enjoying the night and wish to continue exploring the city, grab a bite to eat at one of the many restaurants surrounding Market Square.

Whether you want to grab a quick bite at a Pittsburgh staple like Primanti Bros or sit down for a craft cocktail at City Works, finding somewhere to dine has never been easier.

If you’re looking for something a little more involved, unleash your competitive side in one of the many games available at Barcadia or catch a sports game on the big screen and enjoy gourmet grilled cheese at The Yard.

There are unlimited options for wherever the night will take you, all within a short distance in the Golden Triangle.
