Downtown Date Night: Pour Me Another

By Layla Joseph

Braddock’s Rebellion's Executive Chef Nicholas Saxon invites Pittsburghers to “let the good times roll” at the restaurant’s monthly Pour Me Another event on August 17.

Saxon has been the head chef at Braddock’s for over six years, and before his time in Pittsburgh, he studied at the Pennsylvania Institute of Culinary Arts.

The acclaimed chef continues to absorb knowledge but at Pour Me Another, he wants to teach the people of Pittsburgh a thing or two about culinary arts.

This month, the 90-minute experience will allow you to take a taste of Louisiana with no travel needed. With a welcoming atmosphere, cajun aroma and jazz music, you will be transported to the Paris of the South while receiving the opportunity to learn about authentic drinks and cuisine.

Saxon and his team have crafted the menu to bring a taste of the south to Pittsburgh. Food and drinks are carefully selected to give attendees a genuine experience while providing comprehensive knowledge of each dish.

For those who love seafood, August is the month to attend, as participants will congregate over featured foods like authentic gumbo, oysters and crawfish etouffee.

Enjoy a taste of southern sandwiches like Muffaletta and Shrimp Po Boy, and satisfy your sweet tooth with bona fide beignets.

Drinks for the evening are deliberately paired with plates to please your palate. As you sip on signature cocktails, Saxon will explain the thought behind his reasoning while giving you a brief history lesson on the concoction.

Signature sips include Sazerac, a whiskey-based drink, New Orleans’ daiquiris, Pimm’s Cup and The Hurricane.

Over an hour of entertaining knowledge, great food and drinks will cost you and your significant other just under $150. Tickets for the event usually sell out, so grab a ticket, enjoy the elevated experience and have Saxon pour you another.
