Experience the Magic of Michael Jackson: MJ The Musical Shines in Pittsburgh’s Cultural District

Looking to experience live music that tells a story? Head to the Cultural District, which features nine theaters and event halls where visitors can experience performance art every night of the week. The Benedum Center shows off Broadway plays and musicals, and later this month, you can learn the story of one of the greatest entertainers of all time: Michael Jackson.

The musical follows Michael Jackson’s life and explores how his creative and collaborative talents catapulted him to fame. The play is centered around the production of Jackson’s 1992 Dangerous World Tour, a four-continent, 15-month tour where he played 69 concerts that were attended by a total of 3,500,000 people

Written by the two-time Pulitzer Prize winner Lynn Nottage, MJ: The Musical is sure to give you an unforgettable experience.. The musical is directed and choreographed by Tony Award-winner Christopher Weeldon, whose ballet background fromThe Royal Ballet School in London, England, enabled him to break down the iconic moves of Michael Jackson and direct actors to recreate them almost perfectly, making the audience feel as if Jackson is on stage right in front of them.

 

The musical’s runtime is November 19 through December 1. Don’t miss this must-see musical to experience Michael Jackson’s spirit in his music and dance.
