Written by Lourdes Rodriguez

Returning for the third time in Highmark First Night Pittsburgh's storied history, this year's ice maze is set to be a monumental attraction. Weighing in at over 60,000 pounds and standing an impressive 5.5 feet tall, the maze will cover a sprawling 30x40 foot area in the Giant Eagle Foundation Backyard; Penn Avenue & 8th Street Pittsburgh on Tuesday, December 31st at 6PM-11PM.

This year's maze promises to be a captivating experience, thanks to the generous support from Visit PA.

For an extra dose of icy excitement, kids can take part in racing LEGO cars down an ice luge racetrack situated nearby. This interactive feature is sure to delight young visitors, adding a playful and dynamic element to the frozen festivities.

The mastermind behind these incredible ice creations is Rich Bubin of Ice Creations. With an astounding 43 years of experience in the art of ice carving, Rich brings expertise and artistry to every piece he crafts. His skill and dedication ensure that each element of the ice maze is not only visually stunning but also structurally sound and safe for all visitors to enjoy.

Whether you're navigating through the icy labyrinth, posing at the Ice Throne, or cheering on kids at the ice luge racetrack, there’s something magical waiting for everyone. Don’t miss out on this spectacular winter wonderland at Highmark First Night Pittsburgh!
