By Layla Joseph

The clock is ticking, and the time to experience a hilarious, gory and groovy Pittsburgh Musical Theater production is almost up.

Evil Dead The Musical is back by popular demand and now playing through Oct. 22 at Pittsburgh Musical Theater's West End Canopy. The outdoor venue is covered but guests are still encouraged to brace themselves for the day’s forecast, so be sure to bundle up.

"Blood flies. Limbs are dismembered. Demons tell bad jokes... and all to music," Pittsburgh Musical Theater wrote.

Tickets are available online now and give you the choice of regular attendance or to get up close and personal in the "Splatter Zone."

Seeing this production is like living out the best parts of a horror movie without the imminent risk of death.

Pittsburgh Musical Theater is a non-profit organization that has been bringing professional productions to life for the people of Pittsburgh for over 30 years by providing local talent with the opportunity to prosper through experience and mentorship both on and off the stage.

This show is intended for mature audiences and incorporates elements from the 1980s horror classics The Evil Dead, The Evil Dead II and the 1990's Army of Darkness, becoming "one of the craziest theatrical experiences of a lifetime," according to Pittsburgh Musical Theater.

The musical follows the story of five college kids as their trip to an abandoned cabin turns into a full-fledged adventure as they accidentally unleash evil and become possessed.

Ash, a regular guy working a steady job, and his chainsaw are now tasked with the impossible: saving the day and the demonic group of students.

The musical numbers of this show are not your everyday songs. Some of the titles include words that just can't be published in this article- you'll just have to see it for yourself.
