Highmark’s International StrEAT Festival: Musical Performers

By Allison Frazer

The Highmark International StrEAT Festival is an amazing place to try some local bites and hear some Pittsburgh based live musicians.

Elias Khouri is a Pittsburgh based musician who thrives in the genres of 60’s and 70’s folk, rock, pop classics, and nostalgic sing along tunes. Khouri’s love of music began when listening to his father’s record collection, which inspired him to begin learning how to play the guitar and pursue a career in music. Khouri’s renditions of popular funk, soul, and rock’n’roll will have you on your feet singing along to irresistible songs. Some of his favorite artists to cover include: Jim Croce, Eagles, The Beatles, Cat Stevens, Eric Clapton, and Billy Joel. He will be performing Saturday, 10/19 from 1-1:45 P.M.

Ellen Perkins is a Duquesne University alum who graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education. Her love of music began at just five years old when she began playing the violin. She later expanded to include voice, clarinet, guitar and piano. When not teaching students, she performs around Pittsburgh, showcasing her many musical talents. Perkins will be performing on Saturday, 10/19 from 3-4 P.M. and Sunday, 10/20 from 5-6 P.M. at the festival.

Sarah Fair is a local Pittsburgh musician who has performed around downtown Pittsburgh at popular locations like Market Square. Her music is heartwarming and moving as she performs many original songs that feature the piano and her voice. Fair will be performing on Saturday, 10/19 from 5-6 P.M. and Sunday, 10/20 from 1-2 P.M.
