Hole in One Fun at The Puttery

By Layla Joseph

Pittsburghers over 21-years-old can try their hand at a unique and immersive putt-putt experience.

Puttery Pittsburgh is located on Smallman Street in the Strip District and invites the people of Pittsburgh to grab a club and take a swing.

The national chain has locations in eight other cities across the country and claims to be a “modern spin on mini golf.”

Puttery’s Pittsburgh location, which opened earlier this year, consists of three mini golf courses and two bars for a unique night out on The Strip.

The two story establishment hosts vibrant decor with a bar and dining area on each floor. Their menu consists of elevated appetizers like lamb sliders and bruschetta in addition to specialty pizzas, salads and desserts.

Non-alcoholic drinks are an option, but the signature cocktails and wide variety of beers and wines allow customers to elevate their moods and their game.

After grabbing a drink, customers can make their way to one of the three uniquely themed courses. The cost to play is $18 per person for nine holes and allows customers to participate in a lively atmosphere and a mesmerizing experience.

On the first floor, the Lodge is the perfect place to cool down on summer nights. The scenery in this course mimics a ski resort with realistic mountains, pine trees and Arctic animals as decor.

The Library course is located on the second floor and gives customers the opportunity to take a swing while also enjoying a museum vibe. Bookworms will appreciate the decor that is a modern take on an elegant library.

Also located on the second floor is the Garage. This course features a motorcycle, classic cars and a vintage vibe, giving customers the opportunity for fun photo shoots and an amusing environment.

For those who like to plan ahead, reservations are welcome, but for those spontaneous Pittsburghers, don't be afraid to just walk in. For a special experience, it’s possible to rent any of the four available rooms.

Puttery’s Pittsburgh location is open Monday through Thursday from 4 p.m. to midnight with extended hours through the weekend. Service starts at noon on Friday and 11 a.m. on Saturday, both nights staying open past midnight. On Sundays you can get your game on from 11 a.m. to midnight.
