Liberty Chick’n’Fish Serves up Extended Hours

Liberty Chick ‘n’ Fish celebrated their first year on May 16 and since then extended their hours of operation and added a delivery option to the menu. The restaurant is one of four establishments owned and operated by Pittsburgh local, Alihan Hanoglu.

The restaurant is a short stroll away from the Strip District and customers are welcome to bring their own alcoholic beverages to enjoy with their meal. According to Hanoglu, the establishment is just a two minute walk from the Convention Center.

With the traffic from the Convention Center, attention from regulars and people traveling Downtown daily, the store has been successful since their grand opening in 2022.

With fresh food and affordable pricing, Hanoglu said that some regulars come to enjoy breakfast before going to work, but will return on their lunch break to pick another meal from the lunch menu.

“We run a special for $12 that includes three options,” he noted. “You can get any burger, six chicken wings or fried shrimp, all of those options include fries and a drink.”

Even though the business is named after their chicken and fish specials, Hanoglu says the burgers are their most popular item. Burgers on the menu are made fresh and in-house, along with their hand-cut and breaded chicken and seafood specials.

“If someone’s ordering a chicken burger, it’s never frozen,” he said. “We don’t use the frozen stuff.”

Hanoglu explained that the meat for the burgers, chicken, fish and beef, are all ground in-house and seasoned before they are shaped, cooked and plated. The menu has recently added a veggie burger for customers that desire a plant-based option.

What sets them apart from other restaurants on Liberty is their open-kitchen concept and the New Orleans feel. Hanoglu said that the building was asking for the aesthetic it received, and the open kitchen concept fit right with the building.

The open-kitchen gives a unique experience, allowing customers to watch the cooks prepare the food and assemble the plates before being served.

“While customers are waiting to get food, they can actually watch how it’s being done,” Hanoglu said.

Now offering breakfast, delivery and online ordering, Liberty Chick ‘n’ Fish’s new extended hours run Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
