Nacho Average Event: Pittsburgh Taco Festival Comes to the Strip District

By Layla Joseph

The annual Pittsburgh Taco Festival will be hosted at The Stacks at Three Crossings in the Strip District on August 26.

In 2016, Craig McCloud founded the festival as a way to spawn opportunities for start-up restaurants and businesses as well as food trucks that celebrate Latin-American culture.

Enjoy traditional dishes in addition to vegan and vegetarian meals that are a perfect way to satisfy your taco cravings.

With Latin-American inspired live music and entertainment, guests are encouraged to appreciate the culture while enjoying their food.

Grab some salsa and chips before hitting the dance floor and getting groovy. With activities aimed at all ages, an art market and plenty of food, there is something for anyone who appreciates a taco or two.

Grab your general admission ticket online for a discounted price before the day of the event. For only $13 guests can enjoy all the festival fun and nearly 30 taco trucks and vendors from 12:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Bring the kids but leave your furry-friends at home. The event is family-friendly but children over the age of 5-years-old require a ticket.

Taco ‘bout a good time: get the Festival Fan Silver Package and gain access to the festival an hour early, a raffle ticket for the Pittsburgh Taco Festival Prize Package and a free festival tee-shirt for $30.

If you want more than the Festival Fan Silver Package can offer, upgrade to the Taco Lover’s Gold Package and get everything above plus free, convenient parking and a festival poster as a souvenir for $50.

The Pittsburgh Taco Festival has partnered with Pittsburgh Hispanic Development Corporation, an organization that focuses on improving the quality of life for Hispanic people across the greater Pittsburgh area, and Casa San Jose, a center that provides resources for Latino immigrants.

Together, the three organizations handpick vendors and select entertainment to give Pittsburghers an authentic event and gathering place while fundraising for their causes.
