Shop Your Saturday Night Away at The Squirrel Hill Night Market
By Olivia Miller
On August 26th, venture to Squirrel Hill for a night of shopping, music, and food at the second Squirrel Hill Night Market of the season. Located on Murray Avenue from Forbes Avenue to Beacon Street, the market will take place from 6pm - 10pm.
Originating from the inspiration of pop-up night markets found in various corners of the globe, the event and all of its offerings were made possible by collaboration between I Made It! Market, Uncover Squirrel Hill, the Squirrel Hill Urban Coalition, Brandywine Communities, and Little’s Shoes.
The core of this event is the "I Made It!" Market, a collective of over 75 local artisans proudly displaying everything from handcrafted jewelry to intricately designed textiles. Patrons’ shopping experience is accompanied by a symphony of live bands playing their original works. As they browse the items, they can also check out beautiful art displays or grab a bite to eat from one of Pittsburgh’s tasty food trucks or one of Squirrel Hill’s divine restaurants. This event is for all ages and also offers activities for children.
Mark your calendars for August 26th and be prepared to explore one of Pittsburgh’s most diverse neighborhoods. If you cannot come to this night market, fear not. The next Squirrel Hill Night Market will take place on October 7th.
