Pittsburgh, meet Arts Landing.

That’s the name for the new $31 million Downtown gathering and play space being proposed by the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust on Eighth Street bordering Penn Avenue and Fort Duquesne Boulevard.

On Thursday, Cultural Trust officials dropped the name and more details about the four-acre spot, which will include a great lawn, a bandshell for concerts, a play area, a garden walk, pickleball courts, and a small running track.

For its 31st anniversary, Highmark First Night Pittsburgh will rock with more than 30 events for all ages. There will be live art and entertainment all over Downtown’s 14-block Cultural District.

At First Night, you can enjoy art both indoors or outdoors so you can stay warm or venture out into the streets.

The Cultural Trust and Downtown Neighbors Alliance ask that you join us for an evening of discussion, a question-and-answer session, making new friends with residents and business owners, and of course, food and libations.
