The Benedum Center’s Epic April Lineup: Peter Pan, Some Like It Hot, and More!

The Benedum Center for the Performing Arts has lots in store this April to kick off a dazzling spring season of musical theater, dance, and performance.

First off, there are still tickets remaining for Peter Pan, the beloved classic tale sparked back to life in the new adaptation written by playwright Larissa FastHorse, directed by Emmy Award winner Lonny Price, and choreographed by Lorin Latarro. There will be eight performances from April 1 to April 6, 2025. A production from PNC Broadway in Pittsburgh, Peter Pan is sure to enchant audiences of all ages with an action-packed musical adventure and timeless tunes such as “I’m Flying” and “I Won’t Grow Up.” 

Tickets are selling fast for Some Like It Hot, brought to the Benedum Center by PNC Broadway in Pittsburgh. There will be eight performances from April 15 to April 20, 2025. Some Like It Hot is a hit Tony and Grammy award-winning Broadway musical comedy set in Chicago during the Prohibition era. The creative team behind this famed production includes award-winning artists Amber Ruffin, Matthew Lopez, Marc Shaiman, Scott Wittman, and Casey Nicholaw. This 2022 musical is a fresh adaptation of the iconic 1959 movie starring Marilyn Monroe. It follows Joe and Jerry, two musicians who disguise themselves and go on the run with an all-female band to escape the mob.

Also coming to the Benedum this April is Shen Yun by The Greater Philadelphia Falun Dafa Association. Shen Yun features classical Chinese dance performance, an unforgettable orchestra, stunning costuming, and picturesque backdrops. Audiences can look forward to around 20 musical pieces that bounce between various ancient Chinese regions, legends, and dynasties.

Other April productions include The Thorn, Jerry Seinfeld Live, Brit Floyd, and Bob Dylan: Rough and Rowdy Ways Tour (sold out).
