Best Dish We Ate This Week: Forbes Tavern

This week, the DNA staff made their way to Forbes Tavern for a quick bite for lunch, and we all had excellent meals! Every dish was outstanding, however, we deemed the best dish was the Fried Spicy Chicken Sandwich.

The chicken was coated with an extremely crispy breading that was marinated in Nashville hot seasoning, while the meat was tender and juicy. Topped with pickles, horseradish, and honey sriracha glaze, the sandwich was packed with the perfect amount of punch and tanginess. So much so that we don’t know if we will ever come across a better spicy chicken sandwich in the downtown area.

On the side, the cajun fries added to the spice while still being savory and had the ideal consistency of being crispy yet fluffy. Not only was the food amazing, but the service was outstanding and the staff was extremely friendly. Additionally, the atmosphere of the tavern is extremely welcoming and brought out a certain nostalgia that we absolutely adored.
