Best Dish We Ate This Week: Gaucho Parrilla Argentina

By Olivia Miller

This week the DNA editorial staff went to Downtown’s outstanding Argentinian restaurant, Gaucho Parrilla Argentina, for lunch. We meticulously pondered over the menu, deciding between their sizable salads, towering sandwiches, or some of their tasty small plates. We decided on ordering a selection of their empanadas.

We ordered two beef empanadas as well as one of their ham and cheese empanadas and a veggie empanada. All of them looked and smelled impeccable with piping hot crispy, doughy shells which contrasted with the colorful side of chimmi-churri sauce. The hefty beef empanadas were filled with a flavorful meaty filling. The ham and cheese empanada was savory, salty, and sharp with its chewy ham and fragrant cheese blend. Lastly, the veggie empanada was filled with a blend of smoky, colorful veggies including black beans, corn, and red peppers.

Gaucho is open for lunch from 11 am - 2:30 pm from Wednesday through Saturday. To see a complete list of their hours and their full menu, visit their website here.
