Best Dish We Ate This Week: RedBeard's Best Game in Town Burger

By Olivia Miller

Last week, the DNA editorial staff took advantage of the good weather for a summer lunch outside on RedBeard’s patio. Cool in the shade of their red umbrella, we ordered off of their menu full of twists on classic American cuisine.

Our favorite dish ended up being their Best Game in Town burger, which consisted of a lean bison patty smothered in provolone cheese and topped with pepper jelly and fried kale all in between a toasted onion, poppy seed bun. The patty itself was lean and flavorful with none of those chewy bits of meat that make you stop eating mid-bite. The cheese was subtle yet flavorful, binding the crunchy, fragrant pieces of fried kale to the burger. The star of the show was without a doubt the pepper jelly. It was the perfect condiment to be added to this burger and its tangy hotness perfectly balanced out the other complex flavors in this meal.

The burger was served with fries which were dusted with RedBeard’s signature blend of spices which were substantial and crunchy without being too oily or heavy.

RedBeard’s is open at their location at 144th 6th Street daily from 11:30 am - 2:00 am.
