Downtown Date Night: Have a Laught at Arcade Comedy Theater

When looking for a joyful spot to take your date Downtown, look no further than Arcade Comedy Theatre on Liberty Avenue. 

According to Psychology Today, laughter bonds people through prosocial behavior. Not only is laughing contagious, but having humor makes people consider you more social and intelligent. 

Break the ice or spice up your life with some lighthearted improv, sketch or stand-up comedy right here in the Cultural District. 

Guests who are 21-years-old and older can enjoy a bottle of wine or six-pack from home with Arcade Comedy’s BYOB policy for a $5 corkage fee per person. 

Forgot your adult beverage at home? Take a one-minute walk to Fine Wine and Good Spirits on Liberty Avenue and grab your favorite bottle of wine, or a two-minute walk to Beer and Tobacco Downtown to pick up a six-pack of your favorite brews.  

For those driving to the date night destination, free street parking is available after 6 p.m. For people that struggle to parallel park, The Smithfield and Liberty garage has $6 spots in the evening. 

Upcoming shows for September are listed online, and tickets range from $15 to $20 per person. 

This Friday, you can take your pick at three shows. At 7 p.m., experience improv comedy with House Team Hot Spot: three troupes bring their humor and tease with wit that the guests inspire in attendance for $15 per person. 

At 8 p.m., witness Chicanery with Chi Chi, and experience a show from Pittsburgh-based Drag Queen Spicy Siren for only $15 per person. 

The last show at 9 p.m. is The Stand Up Laboratory, where up-and-coming comedians test out their material on you for $10 per person. 

On Saturday, the shows start an hour later and go an hour longer. At 8 p.m., take a trip to Irony City: Am I the Jagoff? For $15 per ticket, listen to hilarious stories and determine whether or not the comedian in question is the jagoff. 

At 9 p.m., watch Level Up Stand Up and see a new lineup of comedy acts with their funniest  jokes in the upstairs theater. Tickets for the show are just $15. 

To end the night, be entertained by Pittsburgh local and viral comedian JoMarius Purse iin the downstairs theater for only $15 per ticket.
