Introducing DNA's Living Well Initiative: Elevate Your Wellbeing
By Allison Frazer
DNA Pittsburgh is excited to announce our new Living Well Initiative! Downtown residents will have the opportunity to become part of this new initiative that places healthy eating and exercise at the forefront and prioritizes living longer, healthier lives.
Downtown Pittsburgh is a vibrant and dynamic community filled with opportunities. Our goal is to revitalize Downtown and get residents excited about the possibilities living here can provide.
Downtown Pittsburgh has extraordinary access to trails, parks, rivers and amenities that can aid in living a healthy lifestyle. Downtown is a walkable place, with access to North Shore, South Side and Uptown in a quick walk. The Three Rivers Heritage Trail is a great option for a scenic walk, run, or bike ride that follows the Monongahela, Allegheny, and Ohio rivers.
A healthy diet is a cornerstone of the Living Well Initiative. Downtown has access to multitudes of restaurants all with diverse menus and options. DNA will aid in pointing residents toward restaurants with locally sourced and fresh ingredients to promote healthy eating.
The Living Well initiative will allow residents to connect with one another and foster a sense of community. DNA offers residents the opportunity to join a bike club, where they can meet other cycling enthusiasts located downtown and explore the many trails that surround the city. DNA’s dinner club allows residents to join a potluck dinner with their neighbors, where they can share recipes and traditions along with a meal. There will also be cooking demonstrations to show residents that they can make a delicious, healthy meal in their own home.
Through joining the Living Well Initiative, residents will gain control over their exercise and diet, taking advantage of their health, to live longer and more fulfilling lives. They will also get the chance to foster community and meet like-minded people through group activities.
