Love Boutique: Spreading Self-Love in the Heart of Pittsburgh

By Lourdes Rodriguez

Kelly Sanders and Monica Grunick started one of their two boutiques, Love, seven years ago with a vision of creating a space filtered through their love, without focusing solely on Pittsburgh. They initially tested this concept in their other stores, love, Pittsburgh, and it was a success. Their philosophy in self-gifting: prioritizing self-care to better share love with others, forms the cornerstone of their brand. As Kelly Sanders states, “If your cup is full, it will spill over, and you’ll have no love for yourself.”

Love, Pittsburgh consists of Pittsburgh-themed merchandise such as mugs, candles, and clothing that are embroidered with familiar landmarks including PNC Park and The Point. Their sister store, Love, sells items that are self-love themed. They also offer a seasonal collection such as the Fall-ing for You line, for the Fall season.

What sets Love Boutique apart is Kelly and Monica’s keen eye for detail and commitment to quality. Each item in the store is handpicked, ensuring that customers find unique, high-quality pieces that they won’t see everywhere else. They feature items from local artists and their own family heirlooms, making each piece of merchandise especially meaningful.

Kelly has always believed in the potential of downtown Pittsburgh, describing it as the heart of the city. She remains optimistic about the future of the Golden Triangle. “I still believe in Downtown Pittsburgh. This is the heart of the city. The message of Downtown being scary and bad when it is not. It’s easier to be negative rather than positive” stated by Kelly Sanders.

Spread some “love” by visiting their two boutiques: Love, on 489 Market St. and Love, Pittsburgh’s three locations, Downtown: 805 Liberty Ave, Strip District: 1728 Penn Ave., and Mount Washington: 301 Shiloh Street.
