Spooky Things to Do For Halloween in The Golden Triangle

By Layla Joseph

The cats out of the bag: Halloween is quickly approaching and the Greater Downtown scene is adopting a spooky vibe featuring adult events that are sure to enchant your Hallo-weekend.

On the morning of Oct. 30, SweatNET Pittsburgh will be hosting a Halloween Boot Camp and Costume Contest as a way to get your blood pumping while celebrating All Hallows Eve. Bring your own mat, towel and water to break a sweat with prizes for fun and scary costumes in The Terminal’s yellow passageway.

The Terminal is the opposite of a ghost town this Halloween Weekend. Aslin Beer Co. is hosting Franken Stein Fest  on Oct. 28 from noon to 5 p.m. Vampires will have to sit out on this daytime event, but all other ghouls should be ready for ultimate entertainment accompanied by the best kind of madness.

Franken Stein Fest is alive! Aslin Beer Co. have chosen their favorite features of beer fest, and stitched them together with a Halloween theme. General admission (GA) will cost $50 and include a Franken Stein Fest glass, trick or treat special, admission to watch live wrestling and unlimited pours of local potions.

Upgrade to Early Entry GA ticket for $65 to experience an extended hour of frightful fun and a $10 off merch coupon. Games, costumes, food and unlimited pours from over 50 beers will bring any ghost back to the dead.

Kingfly’s Annual BOOO-zy Bash is working the graveyard shift planning a haunting evening on Oct. 28 in the Terminal. Park your broomstick from 8-11 p.m., dance with DJ Jermey McFly, meet up with ghosts and ghouls and have a witchin’ time with cocktails, tarot card readings, and a costume contest with a $250 cash prize. Tickets for the event are $20 each and can be purchased online now.

A good time is in your future, and with new moon and tarot readings with professional Spirit Counselor, Reiki Master and Tarot Card Reader Rebecca Bloom. For $40, receive a one-on-one Intuitive Tarot Card Reading and learn more about your spirit with assistance from a professional. Bloom will be in attendance at Kingfly’s BOOO-zy Bash from 8-10 p.m. and tickets to see your fate can be secured online now.

Stay closer to home and start your weekend howling at the Halloween moon on Oct. 27 as Howl at the Moon hosts the Halloween party of your dreams. Doors open at 6 p.m. and live music starts at 7 p.m. For a $10 cover, Nightmare at Howl! invites you to a haunted night with live music, spooky alcoholic concoctions and a cash prize costume contest. Dig past the skeletons in your closet and find an elaborate costume for a chance to win $250, $150 or $100.

After the kids are done trick-or-treating, drop them with the sitter and knock on the door of Sienna Mercato for adult Tricks and Treats. Put on your disguise and dance into the morning Oct. 28 on Sienna Mercato’s rooftop bar. Admire the city’s skyline and keep a look-out for witches flying around as you enjoy cocktails, giveaways and costumes from 6 p.m. to 1 a.m. Tickets for this event are $30 and available online now.
