Since 2010, Las Velas Mexican restaurant has been serving downtown Pittsburgh’s community with food that goes beyond our city’s borders: authentic Mexican cuisine. David Montanez, owner and chef of Las Velas Mexican restaurant, was born and raised in Mexico City, Mexico before moving to the Riviera Maya and, eventually, making his way to Pittsburgh. 

Prepare for a night of rich Hispanic and Latino heritage at the Sabores Latinos Festival, hosted by the Pittsburgh Metropolitan Area Hispanic Chamber of Commerce [PMAHCC] on Friday, October 4.

In honor of National Hispanic Heritage Month, we would like to spotlight the Pittsburgh Metropolitan Area Hispanic Chamber of Commerce - an organization that is changing lives in downtown Pittsburgh.

Roberto Clemente Walker was a star on and off the Pittsburgh Pirates baseball field, making history as the first Latin American player inducted into the hall of fame. Clemente inspired the world with his philanthropy and in turn, putting Pittsburgh on the map.

From savory arepas and authentic Argentine steaks to mouth-watering tacos and traditional Spanish tapas, these eateries provide a delicious way to commemorate Hispanic heritage.
