Written by Hannah Chasen

In 2020, violinist Sarah Becker and cellist McKinley Glasser founded City Six Strings. A dynamic and versatile group, performing at 200-300 events annually across Ohio, Pittsburgh, and the surrounding areas. Best known for their work at weddings, City Six Strings is equally adept at playing for a wide variety of events, from fundraisers and corporate gatherings to house parties and soon to be added to their repertoire, candlelight concerts.

The group’s classically trained musicians, whose credentials include degrees and certifications from prestigious institutions such as the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music, the Eastman School of Music, the Cleveland Institute of Music, and Carnegie Mellon University, bring tons of experience and passion to every performance.

Despite their classical backgrounds, City Six Strings is known for their adaptability in the styles they perform, with members who have performed alongside stars like the Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Machine Gun Kelly, and Michael Bublé. Their ability to perform diverse genres has earned them a reputation for delivering a perfect soundtrack to any event.
