Pittsburgh Restaurant Week Returns
By Layla Joseph
Pittsburgh Restaurant Week has made its semi-annual return to the City of Bridges, celebrating local businesses, culture and fantastic food.
With special menus at nearly thirty restaurants across the city, Pittsburgers can enjoy elusive prices and exclusive eats from August 7 through August 13.
With Pittsburgh Restaurant Week’s guide, plan to dine in at one (or many) restaurants throughout the week.
For Downtown delicacies, check out the participating restaurants below.
McCormick and Schmick’s: Reserve a table or walk in spontaneously; either way, indulge in fresh seafood with a three-course meal including special items to celebrate. Stop in for dinner and enjoy your choice of three appetizers, four entrees and two desserts for only $45.23 per person.
Special starter items at McCormick and Schmick’s include a Bibb Lettuce Salad with a creamy dijon, shaved Parmesan-Reggiano and shaved radish, a Blue Crab and Corn Chowder and a Prosciutto Wrapper Mozzarella Bruschetta.
If you frequent McCormick and Schmick’s, stick to a familiar dish like the Honey Tabasco Glazed Shrimp and Grits or choose from one of the three specials offered throughout the week. Pick from the Grilled Salmon and Summer Succotash that allows a filling meal with refreshing flavor: incorporating carrot chipotle sauce and lemon beurre blanc. The Seared Sichuan Tuna is served with sticky rice, pineapple ponzu, braised baby bok choy and beet powder. If you aren’t a big seafood fan, try the 9-ounce Certified Angus Beef Top Sirloin with in-house mashed potatoes and a peppercorn brandy demi-glaze.
Finish off the savory meal with your choice of something sweet: a mango creme brulee is on special alongside the restaurant’s New York Cheesecake.
