Downtown resident Ralph Falbo has been involved in real estate development in Pittsburgh for over 50 years. He got his start as an accountant but became interested in real estate after working with a client who specialized in subsidized housing.

Since the bar’s grand opening in 2001, Olive or Twist has been serving guests, hosting events, and supporting the community in Downtown Pittsburgh by offering locally sourced spirits and beers on their menu and by featuring local musicians who perform live music for guests.

The event, which took place in the Union Trust Building’s 10th Floor Theater, saw close to 400 people in attendance with another 100 plus Pittsburghers watching the livestream.

During last week’s Downtown Town Hall, DNA Executive Director, John Valentine, unveiled the organization’s five primary projects that will transform Pittsburgh into a “unique urban village that is different from them all.”

The diamond industry is something in founder Henry Rothschild’s genes. Originally from New Orleans, he opened Diamonds by Rothschild after being exposed to the industry his whole life through his father.

Alihan’s Coffee & Breakfast is a cozy, quaint restaurant located on 6th Street serving up breakfast and lunch dishes with a Turkish flair. The restaurant was opened by Martina and Alihan Hanoglu, who also own Alihan’s Mediterranean Cuisine, in September 2022.

RedBeard’s on Sixth is a haven for all Yinzer sports fans located just across the river from PNC Park and Acrisure Stadium. Aptly named for its founding owners, one of whom had a red beard, it has been owned by Len Semplice since 2006, with the downtown location going into its 10th year.

Originally opened in October 2019 by Lisa Wolfson, the shop features pieces for women of all ages that are just as versatile and timeless as they are stylish. Wolfson boasts that her in-store Spanx fittings are one of the most unique and convenient aspects of the boutique.

Cardamone’s Salon has been a Pittsburgh staple for the last 44 years. Owner Joe Cardamone’s interest in shaping hair and “making people look good and feel better” initially inspired him to attend beauty school before opening the salon in 1978.

What do bikes, bashes and brunch all have in common? They are all offered at CADENCE+ At The Strip. Located at 2400 Smallman St., according to Chief Operating Officer Jen Katzfey, the venue is meant, “to offer people the opportunity to come together in community for life’s special moments.”

Alexandra Mayr-Gracik trained in fashion design at the Fashion Institute of Vienna before returning to the United States to become the full-time Head Designer at Sabika Jewelry, founded in 2001 in Pittsburgh by her mother Karin Mayr. Sabika, headquartered in Robinson, is sold online and through independent consultants across the United States.
